Abstract
We report the case of a 7 month old infant who presented in Emergencies with episodes of protracted crying of recent onset. He underwent laparoscopic examination, which revealed an ileo-ileal intusucception. A reduction was performed and the caecal appendix removed. The pathological finding was the presence of an anisakis in the appendicular lumen. The epidemiological implications of this fish parasite in humans is discussed.
