Abstract

The effect of 100 mg IM of vitamin B12, monthly, during 4 months, over anemia in premature infants was evaluated. A controlled, randomized and blinded study in 55 less than 33 weeks of gestational age babies was conduced. There was no differences in hematologyc evolution neither growth in both studied groups. The number of transfusion was significatively lower in both groups than those reported in other studies.
