Abstract

This article outlines some ethical questions about an 8-year old female patient, with a chronic liver disease associated to a severe and non-reversible brain damage. Her parents ask to the medical team to perform a liver transplantation, she is their only daughter, and they are aware about a 25% of recurrence in another child. The ethical limits and decision making process in these patients are discussed.
