Abstract

SLE is a multisystemic disease characterized by widespread inflammation of the blood vessels and connective tissues. Cardiac involvement in children occurs at least in 30-40% of cases and takes a variety of forms. Pericarditis and myocarditis are most frequently seen. We present 3 patients with SLE whose most striking clinical manifestations were due to the cardiovascular involvement. We review the current findings of cardiovascular manifestations in paedriatric SLE.
